Christmas in Vancouver

So as Christmas rolls along I just sit here. Waiting.
For what?
Not Santa that's for sure. Reindeers? Nope. Elves. Just vague.
Children laughing. Parents stressed. Isn't Christmas supposed to be a joyous, fun holiday?
In these days it's about spending and going in debt with your money.
As I pass by in the streets of East Hastings and volunteer in Kingsgate Mall in East Broadway I just don't feel the "christmas spirit" as some suppose to say that's what you feel. Nope. Single parents dumping their wallets on the store clerks counter to see which card has enough money. Children being apparently "good" on December to get what they want.
I really feel bad.
I know for sure that I can't do anything but only blog about it.
Be aware.
Who are you spending your money on?
Vancouver is a place of money, high-tech, people that expect a lot.
But.
They're some that are not so expectant.
Actually quite a few.
Give a gift by your heart, not your wallet.
So as I conclude on today's blog I just want to say have a Merry Christmas.
And to all my pen pals and bloggers/viewers, don't think Vancouver is like this.
It's just how I see it. In some people.
Love,
Sára-Elísabet
